What I did whit Miss Mineham

Two weeks ago Mrs Mineham came to teach us about media. We had to go on cybersmart. Then we had to click on this link then there were some slide shows. If you were are a year 4 you would have to go on  Kākano. If you were a year 5-6 you will have to go on Te Rito. If you were a year 7-8 you will have to go on Puāwai. You click on it and you will have to do hard activities. When you completed them you could have free time on chromebook or go on our learning sites. Everyone’s slide show was different.

My first quality blog post

I’ve been learning about what is a quality blog post. Mr.F said to do part of the class work. This was 100% hard for me because there were quite a lot of things to remember. What do you think makes a blog post engaging.

About my knitting group

Every week my knitting group do knitting with Mrs Joan. She teaches us how to knit. The kids that do knitting with me are Kaylee, Riya, Kaiyah, Jordy, Johanna, Hayley, Priya, Paige, Maliah, Aashnan and I. I had a blue wool and I needed some help from Mrs Joan. She said I had to restart it sadly but I didn't mind. I did thought I did something wrong and I did. Anyway I did really well with my knitting but now I have a different knitting needle and different colour knitting. Anyway I kept going and knitting and going and knitting and going and knitting. It never stops and today I am still doing some knitting. When I wanted to do knitting I thought it was going to be boring but it was actually cool fun and great. Every year I am going to do my knitting but when I am a grow up I won’t be doing knitting because I am going to have jobs and I might not have time to knit.

Hokey

Two days ago on Tuesday after school I had hokey games. My sister and my brother were playing hockey too. They were in the same team then me. We won each game. We played the blacks and we won that round. Then we played against me and my team each game we won even we were a little team and the other team was big well they had more kids and our team had less kids. Even if there is less kids in the team it das not mean that we won't win
Any way sport is not about winning it’s about having fun.

Climate Change

Greenhouse Gases? Greenhouse Gases are like a blanket around the world and make the Earth warm and without Greenhouse Gases earth will be cold and freezing.

How will rising sea levels affect New Zealand and countries around the world? If there was a low Island the sea levels rise that Island will be gone for good and other Islands will be gone too.

What is climate change? Climate Change is when the earth gets warmer or colder. Our crops won't be able to grow and you get hungry people. In 2016 we had a cold year and vegetable crops failed around nz. This year has been very dry which has made it hard to grow things. But it been wet here.
It has been so cold this summer that I haven’t been able to go swimming but last year we did a lot of swimming.

Chocolate cake

On Friday me and mum made  Chocolate cake it was delicious this is how you make a Chocolate cake. You have to have
2 2/1 cups plain flour
2 cups sugar
½ cups cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups warm water
½ cups canola or other oil
2 tbsp white wine vinegar
2tsp vanilla essence
Preheat the oven to 180 C (or 170 C if using fan bake). Non-stick spray and line the cake tin/s with baking paper.
Sift the first five  ingredients into a large bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and whisk until smooth.
Pour the runny batter into the pan/s and bake for 30-40 minutes until the centre springs back when pressed gently and a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and cool on a rack before icing with a double mixture of icing
You can get the Chocolate cake recipe inside your cook book. Thank you for reading my Chocolate cake.

Mrs Dodds, Mum said this is a good cake for you to eat if you change your flour.
This the cake that I made with mum on Friday

Morepork facts

On Saturday I was playing spot light with mum, dad, Rhys, Johanna and I.

I heard a noise. It was a Morepork it was sitting in a tree. Here is the photo of what the morepork looks like. Now time for some facts about them.
                                 Facts about Morepork
Morepork can have three babies but usually two.
Moreporks eat beetles, weta, moths and spiders. They will also take small birds, rats and mice.
The only way Moreporks can survive is to fly silently.
Moreporks sleep in roosts.

Thank you for reading my Morepork information.

Lockdown

I have been in lockdown for 6 weeks.
We have to stay at home and do some learning.
We are in lockdown because there is a virus called Covid-19.
The virus is killing people and we want to keep safe.
We are not allowed to go to school because Covid-19.
We are learning from our chromebooks. There is this hangout that we go on to learn. A hangout is a video chat me and my whole class go onto it to meet up with each other even the teacher. Our teacher is called Mr. Fogarty.
We are not allowed to play with our friends until the lockdown is finished.
In this lockdown I have been biking along the road, walking, and  been going to the runoff with dad, playing yahtzee, and pictionary, and other games.
My gran’s husband’s daughter caught Covid-19 and she got a very bad headache. She got it while coming home from France. She is all better now.

I can’t wait until I go back to school. I like school.
